I think the practice of relating something as intangible as the emotions that memories can elicit to something physical but often unthought of (such as a synapse) indicates a fantastic creative direction. The lines"

"just as a tired tongue around

an almost broken tooth"

are especially illustrative, though I should point out that you misspelled "tongue". I'm not sure if this was intentional but wanted to let you know.

I really related to “when re-clicked by some thought” - I think it’s an effective way to convey how quickly a memory can be triggered, especially a painful one. I also liked the imagery of constantly tonguing a broken tooth to make sure it still hurts as an analogy for reliving a tortuous moment or memory and reinforcing our “believed untruths” (note: there seems to be a typo in “believed” but also “belived” could be intentional!). 

The alliteration in the penultimate line - “stored”, “synapse”, “such sorts” - gives the impression, to me, that pain inflicted by memories is snake-like, slithering, hard to pin down and catch until it’s too late.


some synapses in the brain,


when re-clicked by some thought,


 just as a tired tongue around

an almost broken tooth,


ahh--self inflicted pain,


maybe there's a need to be untaught

of hurt stored in a synapse of such sorts--

like a believed untruth.
