Costumer?
Does anyone know a good costumer/seamstress here in Nash? Someone that can or has done historical or period costumes?

Seamstress here! I primarily make and embroider home goods (table linens and such), but I’ve made a costume or two in my day—mainly Victorian fantasy garb, but I’d love to take a stab at Regency. Feel free to message me if you’d like to brainstorm!
Can attest to the quality of garden_and_grump’s work. Really good stuff.
What period? There’s a reenactor’s store in Bell Buckle. http://www.blockaderunner.com/
Pride & Prejudice, Regency Era, etc.
Ah. Not so much their bag. Might be able to point you to someone or be able to recommend a versatile costumer from the reenacting community?
Eleanna Flautt. She's one of the costumers at Nashville Opera as well as a very active participant in period re-enacment. Wonderful human too! Here's her wedding design gram
Came here to say Performance Studios on Thompson but appears they closed the BM store and operate solely online now. Check the Resource tab for Mid TN Costumers.
Given the number of bedazzled clothing items up there...there has to be someone.
Nashville Rep does prop and costume rentals. Huge selection.
I don't have any names off the bat, but try reaching out to local theater groups? Ask if their costume people take commissions!
Oh, that's pretty brilliant. Thanks.
Hey! I’m good friends with a costumer. Yes, call up local theater groups. And ask for 3-4 names if they have them. Consider calling up larger groups like Nashville Ballet or the Opera and ask if they’ve laid anyone off who might still be in the area. Be prepared to be very realistic on price and turn around time.
Last time I talked shop with my friend, a heard looot of freelancers switched up their career during the 2020 quarantine and got long term gigs in other roles. THAT MEANS a lot of the freelancers still doing freelance costume/wardrobe work are VERY busy.
Good luck out there. Feel free to DM me job details and I can see if that’s the kind of work she’d be interested in.
