Anyone put an oil catch can on their Bronco? Either engine, any issues associated with install? Just pre-ordered the Mishimoto oil catch can kit, should I reconsider? What intercooler upgrades would be recommended? I am interested in the Mishimoto upgrade that repositions the intercooler north for better cooling and wondering if a winch could be tucking this spot, any thoughts/ ideas.

There are 30+ engine failures reported so far, so I’m going to wait a year before doing any mods to the power train to keep my warranty. This engine isn’t new, but there are a few new part numbers inside the block so they’ve done some mods and a new tune.

*30+ 2.7L engine failures. I haven't heard of any problems with the 2 3L.

Yeah the 2.3L is doing better, assumed you were talking twin turbo if you're worried about blow by.

EDIT: Looks like people are already getting over 680 HP out of the 2.3L, not too shabby.

The 2.7 is dual injected, meaning it has a higher likelihood of burning off excess oil. It’s the 2.3 though that will most benefit from a catch-can.

They’re recommended by enthusiasts. Need to order mine.

Isn't the intercooler on the 2.7 the problem with installing a hidden winch? Will this kit reposition it enough for a winch to be installed?

Transmission cooler I believe.

And IMO thats not the only challenge. Im just not comfortable with what ive seen of those hidden winch kits as far as strength.

And I cant seem to find any answer anywhere to the following:

"If I do the hidden winch and get in a front end collision and my engine and / or transmission ends up being damaged worse than it would have been with the factory kit, is my insurance company going to pay up?"

Why does your insurance care, that kind of thinking is for a factory warranty. I'd be expecting my insurance to cover not only the car but the winch too.

EDIT: My brother was on a trip with a group, and the trailer was cut off their van and stolen. My parents had car insurance and since he was a dependent any car he was in was covered. The insurance reimbursed him for his bag and everything in it.
