Hello readers, welcome to OCpoetry. This subreddit is a writing workshop community -- a place where poets of all skill levels can share, enjoy, and talk about each other's poetry. Every person who's shared, including the OP above, has given some feedback (those are the links in the post) and hopes to receive some in return (from you, the readers).

If you really enjoyed this poem and just want to drop a quick comment, to show some appreciation or give kudos, things like "great job!" or "made me cry", or "loved it" or "so relateable", please do. Everyone loves a compliment. Thanks for taking the time to read and enjoy.

If you want to share your own poem, you'll need to give this writer some detailed feedback. Good feedback explains from your point of view what it was like to read the poem, and then tries to explain how the poem made you feel like that. If you're not sure what that means, check out our [feedback guide](https://new.reddit.com/r/ocpoetry/wiki/feedbackcritiques), or look

Realisation is the sun on the darkest of nights! Really cool line and the further imagery of that concept is cool.

I don’t fully understand the “I made you more than you can be” in relation to the poems idea though.

>my home

>in the form of a person

>i made you more than you could be

Great way of putting a relationship like this. A new twist to the "hold on loosely" idea.

>one lonely star

>shining

>on darkest of skies

>but, no night lasts forever

>realization

>striking like sunlight

And this is such a cool image!

I'm not sold on the title though. I think this poem is more about a learning experience, not an apology. Maybe something like "blinding realization"?

Wow.

Your ending is pow-er-ful.

Through your poem, I feel a reminiscence for what once was. And although the poem has a lot of pain in it, I can detect a glimmer of happiness. But it's not the kind of happiness you see in a fairy tale or something. The kind of happiness you have in this poem is bittersweet. It's like the kind of happiness you feel because, despite it not panning out, you still look back on the experience with fondness. From your poem, I gather that the person being addressed was very special to you.
