Is this choice in this event scripted at the start of the game?

Discussion

R5: Going for a Catholic 'One Faith,' GB is my colonizing buddy. I've left Spain, Portugal and GB alone because they've been doing God's work. But this event keeps popping up and they choose 'found a new state Church' every time, it's probably popped 30 times and I've Alt-F4'd. I was hoping to get a PU on them but they also went parlimentary in the civil war, and I haven't been able to get a foothold on the Isles.

The script for the event says '75% chance to pick this option, 25% chance to not convert.'

Code Start:

option = { # dont convert
name = anglican_events.14.c
ai_chance = {
factor = 25
modifier = {
factor = 0
OR = {
is_excommunicated = yes
has_country_modifier = the_statue_in_restraint_of_appeals
NOT = {
exists = PAP
}}}}

Code End

Maybe they took 'The Status in Restraint of Appeals' decision which, if I'm reading this right, basically eliminated this as a choice, leaving them only 'Found a New State Church?' Is there anything else I can do short of trying to subjugate them before they pick this, or forcing religion?

Is the papal states part of the HRE? That would modify the weight of the event option "Found a new state Church" by 10000 which all but guarantees that they pick it.

Yes they are

In this case, you probably have to attack great britain. If you subjugate them before they get the event, you can prevent it. And if you quickly force religion on them after they have gotten the event, you can prevent most of the damage(but they need to be below 100% warscore at that point). If you leave them as anglican long enough, they will probably create anglican colonial nation which you can't easily convert back

In theory...could I declare on the Pope (I expanded Empire to add them post-revoke), take Rome, remove it from the HRE, and return it?

I don't think that you can remove provinces from the HRE if you are emperor

It isn't much of a deal. Get England under 100% warscore or annex them once they form CNs. You can then inherit the colonies and force religion.

Oh no save scumming isn’t working, you may have to actually play the game.

Nobody asked for opinions, so you can go back to your cave of judgement.

I didn’t ask for you to reply, so you can back to touching yourself

Haha touching yourself. Classic gag. We all do it though.

If you want spew judgemental nonsense about how people should play their singleplayer games, then host a radio show or make your own posts.

Damn you right next time. Gonna restart my run and just disable RUle Britannia that adds Anglican but do everything else the exact same. Kind of a moot point about save scumming when it’s for a single event that only exists with an optional flavor DLC

You didn't answer the question. Heaven forbid someone do something you wouldn't.
