UPDATED PLAN OF ATTACK:

The response to this whole thing is pretty overwhelming. There have been so many responses it's nigh impossible to keep track of what's going on.

Apart from the obvious creative aspects of this challenge there are also management and logistical obstacles to overcome. Currently myself and the other mods to this subreddit are trying to organise the chaos a lot more that we currently are so please bear with us, we are trying to get on the same wavelength. I would hate for this to lose momentum and excitement.

The creative aspect seems to be following a natural course and we will be making official threads (as has been done) when we feel a decision needs to be made. Creative decisions and the final choice of the song will be entirely democratic and will be based on the number of votes (seems logical unless there are objections). I would like to take suggestions on a structure of a song and dictate that part and let everyone go from there.

We have been contacted by several Redditors offering advice and volunteering for jobs which is brilliant, please keep it coming. Right now seeing as I have been thrown in the deep end of such a management process it would be great if anyone with experience managing such a project could make themselves visible (PM the mods). We have no idea what we need to do in terms of all legal aspects and how to approach publishing a song etc etc.

So far with discussions with the other mods it would be good to open up certain job vacancies that we would like filled. So under the appropriate official thread please post your experience or something to that effect.

We would like to split the process into distinct steps:

• Name: Please vote and suggest Reddit Artist Names here

• R&D: It would be good to have some sort of logical approach to all of this

• Backing: Please vote and post your backing tracks here

• Lyrics: Potentially the most important aspect of a pop song

• Instrumental Solo: If you think you have what it takes, whatever the instrument, make your ideas known here

• Singer(s): Please post up here samples of your work, please include pics if you are game as you will be the face of the reddit band/artist

• Recording/Post Production/Technical Wizardry: Please help us out here

• Legal Requirements: Are you an IP Lawyer or a Record Producer or have contacts or knowledge of the industry? We want to hear from you here

• Marketing: As per Legal Requirements

Please forgive us for the disorganised manner in which things have started. I didn't expect such a response, but please bear with us and help us make this happen.
