Playing Through Every Choices Book, In (ABC) Order! (Part 5: AVP)

SpoilerA Very Scandalous Proposal

I'm back again! How have you all been? I hope well. I don't know if my playthrough schedule will ever line up with the rate at which I post these already completed reviews. Just a quick note, I am playing on a non-VIP account, and as such, I have to wait 6 hours in between each pair of keys, which makes playthroughs take at least two/three days on average, for the average 16-chapter book. This also means I will not play VIP books until they are fully released to non-VIP players, so expect to skip over a few books here and there. Anyways, here's the review (I ramble too much in these intros lol).

SPOILER WARNING, AS PER USUAL.

A Very Scandalous Proposal

M/C: Dawn Valentine

Final LI: Simon

Wish They Were A LI: Tommy (idc if he's evil, he's hot lmao)

Favorite Chapter: Chapter 16

Favorite Character(s): Simon, Nigel, Mitzi, Genevieve, Cecile

Least Favorite Character(s): Hugo, Patrice, Gerald, Arabella

Overall Rating: 9.5/10

Review:

I adored this book. Everything about it was so quaint and English and lovely, and Simon is so perfect and I love him and his personality. M/C was also very likable! I love the progession of M/C and Simon's relationship, it felt so organic. I honestly found myself slowly falling for him over the course of the book, and it felt so natural! I love the concept of M/C writing a tell-all about the family, and the fact that she marries into the family in the end and still publishes the book is awesome. I will say that Tommy being the final villain was kind of obvious, at least to me, but that's not really a negative towards the book. The reason I took half a point off, however, and the reason this book, and a lot of other books did not recieve a perfect score, is because of the pointless genderlocking. This book would have worked perfectly fine if there had been a male M/C. If Ava and female M/C is acceptable, then so is Simon and male M/C. As for Arabella, just make a male version of her, named Arnold or something, and there ya go. Simple as that. I really wish I could have given this book a perfect score, but alas, it fell victim to the genderlock curse that befalls so many books for absolutely no good reason. All in all, a charming, lovely book, that would have been perfect if it were GOC (gender of choice).
