Anyone else noticed this weird glitch where animate wont save changes made to symbols?

Question

This has happened twice now, where i've gone back to a file to find that some of the symbols had missing frames or colours.

Pretty much confirmed for me now when this morning I found symbols missing colours that I had edited last night, while non-symbols I know were created after those had kept their changes.

Just wanted to know if anyone else has had this issue. It's really pissing me off and day by day i'm beginning to see why everyone hates this program so much.

No, but if it's a common ocurrence for you and it's reproducible then fill a bug report and attach a sample file with a google drive link for the devs to investigate. Here's the form: https://www.adobe.com/products/wishform.html

Hey, i am pulling my hair right now because it has just happened to me 5 minute ago as i was typing this. I immediately search for this subreddit and found your post.

Its exactly like you said, everything else was save except that one layer i have converted the shapes to symbol for looping purpose. Its the first time that ever happened to me too, that symbol was fine days ago now its just decided to not saving.

Lost 3 hours of progress so im pretty fucking pissed too...

Coming back to this post just to explain my theory, I believe this problem could stem from duplicating an animate file and then editing the pre-existing symbols from within said file. As all of my symbol issues occurred on a duplicate file, but never in the original.

Also while working on an animation for several weeks, I made sure to avoid working in duplicate files and I had no issues with the symbols deleting.

Just wanted to ask you if this lines up with your circumstances as well.

That is exactly what i do, i "save as" with a new name so technically i created a duplicate and then i deleted the original file because i thought i wouldnt matter.. I just want to save it in a different name. Well i guess that is why!! Thank you for coming back and telling me this, i have used almost every other adobe software and animate is the first one have this problem, damn.
