I will be in Mexico City for a few months, I party a lot, so I would like to stay somewhere near the party district downtown. Within 10 min of walking is ideal.
Basically, if you tell your friends to go out on Friday night, which area would you go to?
And what are the current COVID restrictions related to night life?

Everything around "la roma/condesa" neighborhoods, there you can find some of the best clubs , if somebody tell you to go to "plaza garibaldi" or "la zona rosa" think about it twice because those places can be kinda dangerous... and don't be around flashing your money...
Zona Rosa is as dangerous as Roma Condesa. There is literally an avenue that divides both areas. It's pretty much the same area.
He might wanna see that kind of places tho... Many people come to see traditional Mexican places to party and drink. Like Garibaldi. In that case the best and maybe only way is getting locals to guide you. And definitely someone of your trust. Because yeah, not the safest places in the city at all.

Definitely Roma/Condesa, lots of clubs, parties and foreigners.
what kind of nightlife are you looking for?
Lots of young people partying, like Vegas, meeting people, meeting girls. No prostitutes
I went to Zona Rosa and Walked to Parque Alameda, got lost in the process in very lonely places at 4am, but i felt safe.
Just be careful with your surroundings.
You can visit Bars an Restaurant at Polanco, nicest ones!

We are at a very high peak of Covid. Please don't go to closed clubs and put us all at risk. There are many terraces and other alternatives.
