Building my mom a PC for her 58th birthday out of spare parts that accumulated over the years. All i need is a passive GPU and its good to go I think. She’s currently on an age old laptop with a pentium, so this should be a major upgrade. Wish me luck!

Frankenbuilds are great! Not sure what CPU you have laying around, but if it has an iGPU it may be enough, depending on what she does with it.

I recall giving my mom a 2nd monitor and her mind was absolutely blown. "So, I can have recipes on this screen and play a game on THAT screen? At the SAME time?!?? Do I need another computer and keyboard?'

Its a i7-6800k :) I blew my brothers mind by showing him my dual monitor setup haha, it’s amazing to see.

Since he is using the X99 mobo, which is older HEDT platform, he cannot use iGPU since the HEDT CPUs doesn't have one afaik
