First time using an electric scooter cart at the store
Background: Infected March 2020 and longhauling since then. POTS, ME/CFS, cognitive dysfunction... the works. And I've been mostly housebound the entire time. Thank gods for grocery curbside pick ups and delivery.
Today, I had to go into Target to pick up my new glasses at their optical center and had to pick up a couple of items. My disabled parking placard hasn't come in the mail yet, so I wasn't able to park close to the store so I planned on using one of those motorized scooter carts for the first time. My mind had went through the anxiety spiral of playing out all the various ways someone might have an issue with my invisible disability from the moment I made this plan last night (gotta love anxiety, right?). I get there today and an employee helps me figure out how to start it up (the stickers on it were so confusing) and, except for one older woman giving me a furrowed brow/dirty look behind her mask, no one seemed to look twice at me.
It was such a relief and I was able to get so much more done in such a large store than I have been able to in the past almost two years since I got sick. Hoping that, once the form my doctor filled out is processed by the state and I get my disability parking placard, occasionally going into a larger store is a possibility for me.
Not really a rant or venting... just felt like sharing this moment in case anyone else has been feeling that same anxiety over using one of the scooters to shop.

I love reading things like this. I'm barely strong enough to shower still.
I finally caved and bought a shower stool for that exact reason. That plus a handheld shower head has made a huge difference for me.
