A journey... 3D printed case using PETG, tried a variety of switches but landed on gat yellows mostly for the colour matching.

Just did the wiring today (after looking at the parts for a month or two) and I have realised I am not entirely sure where to start with the firmware! I have flashed QMK before and made some custom key layouts but always with hardware that someone else designed.

If anyone is able to offer some advice on the best way to go about it that would be great!

You can check QMK doc: https://docs.qmk.fm/#/newbs_building_firmware or a firmware builder: https://kbfirmware.com/

Usually, what I do is duplicate an existing keyboard+layout from QMK and customise it to match my wiring and keymap.
