Life Insurance/Critical Illness cover/Income Protection
Has anyone got any advice on what might suite mine and my friends needs the most, and any terms to look out for/be wary off.
In short, buying a house with a friend 50/50 as tenants in common. 20% deposit, 80% mortgage, but it's a renovation job. Once it's renovated, we expect its value to loan to be more along the lines of 60-65%.
Our current situation:
I have 3 months full sick pay, 3 months half sick pay. This will increase each year of employment until I have been employed for 5 years, where it will max out at 5 months full, 5 months half. I do not plan on changing jobs and is secure, but does have the potential for serious work injury. No savings once renovation is complete (but should be able to save 6 months of salary within 18 months)
Friend - only has SSP, but will have over a years salary as savings, which she intends to put approx half into a high interest savings account. Been employed for 10 years, secure job with no such work risk as mine, no plans on leaving.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated please :)
