Booting into grub rescue mode after deleting artix from my arch and artix dualboot

I had an artix and arch dualboot, but I thought that I don't use artix anymore so I deleted the partition. When I try to boot it says "GRUB loading. Welcome to GRUB!

error: no such partition. Entering rescue mode... grub rescue>"

I am suspecting this is because artix was the default partition to boot into, and now that it is gone it can't find it. When doing grub-mkconfig or grub-install from a live usb, it says "error: failed to get canonical path of 'overlay'."

Edit: I arch chrooted into my arch directory(from a live usb) and did grub-install and grub-mkconfig, but now it just says "GNU GRUB version 2.06 Minimal bash like line editing is supported. Blah blah blah

grub>"

Edit: ok, I solved it by arch chrooting into my root directory and doing grub-mkconfig, turns out I just missed -o in the command before.
