C125 supercub: intake, cam, and efie fuel controller

Hey ya’ll. I hadn’t seen it posted anywhere online, but it IS possible to use the efie fuel controller with the honda grom TB cam and chimera intake. Just finished the install on my 2020. If anyone has any questions just ask. I wanted just a little more power for the occasional highway use, but wanted to maintain stock exhaust for sound and emissions and not spend much money.

Got inspired by this thread

Thanks!

Wow I hadn’t heard of this mod. Have you gotten a chance to ride your cub since? How’s it feel? Any difference in top speed?

Havent test ridden yet as its pretty chilly here in MN still, but you can find grom reviews of it and im sure itll pick up a few mph in the top end and some better moving out of its own way power

Well be sure to list again when you do get a chance to ride it. I’m curious!

Its working great! No check engine light, much more mid and top end power. ive been able to hit 70mph once where it was flat. Excellent mods.

Nice! What top speed where you getting before the mods? And have you ridden it long enough to gauge if there is any affect on wear of the engine? In particular, do your spark plugs show an overly rich mixture?

Just realized it was this post that pointed me to the trail video. Thanks for that. Just commenting in hopes you update with how it runs after the mods.

Will do soon (finally warming up in Minnesota)! I basically copied his write up, but tested each fuse to find a switched power for the efie and put in an add-a-fuse

Thanks for this! I'm thinking of doing this and was wondering how it's working for you? What practical difference has it made? Many thanks.

I used a multimeter to figure out which fuse only powered on with the ignition as most of them are always powered and didnt want to drain the battery. Once i found one i used an add-a-fuse to send power to the EFIE, then just follow the wiring the grom guys have written up on forums

That's great! Thanks so much for the reply!
