I will probably get chewed up posting this but idc. A few things to note about GB and Souls games.... it is not the expert opinion you come for, those still left at GB over the last few years have never been a souls fan. It was mainly Vinny and Brad who got it. JeffG liked bloodborne but bloodborne is bloodborne, yes it takes alot from souls series but it has it's differences which is what Jeff likes about it.
Love Jan but he said he is a Melee class but he chose magic class in the video and uses no magic. I'm not one to say you are playing the game wrong, you do you if you want to make it difficult then I respect that. I wouldn't play any other game and pick a tank and try to dps.
I don't think they try hide the fact that they're not experts on the matter. And that's fine, their impressions are still valid and interesting to me
I... am kind of with you. I would watch their Elden Ring content for the entertainment value but for informed opinions about the game I'd rather go somewhere else.
I like how they briefly spoke about playing this game with guides. With my work-life-family balance today, I don't have the time to discover all of this game's intricacies on my own. I will enjoy this game much more with the occasional guided experience from other players on youtube.
Hell yeah. You go enjoy it your way!
The embargo is up on possibly the best game of the year, and the lads dive straight in talking about foley work.
I fucking love this goddamn website.

For a guy who truly loves old games Jeff G sure does spend a lot of time complaining about not knowing exactly what to do at all times in a souls game…
What's to know about old games? You go right and you jump.
Jeff has devoted enough of his life to video games that I think he doesn't like having his time "wasted" anymore. He wants to get to the good part, and if that good part includes any aimless wandering, it's not the game for him.
I feel like they're not criticizing the game as much as they're saying their lifestyles are not compatible with this type of game. I don't think the Jeffs are saying it's open ended nature is bad, they're just saying they don't have time for it.
Yeah, Bakakar explicitly says that the people who will enjoy this game the most are the ones who are able to put the time into it. Later on he says it's a tragedy that he knows that he can't put in the time to finish it because he really wants to.
