Playing Through Every Choices Book, In Order (Part 28: The Freshman 2)

Hey! Today, we continue our freshman year at Hartfeld, this time for the winter quarter. I wonder if all the characters will chill out a little, or will they all be bitter-cold bitches?

Next time, we wrap up our freshman year, and look forward to...more books from this same series! Yay?

Also, on a side note, I might be taking a break from posting for a bit, just to catch up with the reviews. See, I've been uploading daily because I already had all these reviews written down prior to starting this, since I didn't originally intend to post these on Reddit.

However, once I post my The Sophomore, Book 2 review, I'll have caught up to the rate I play at (around 6 keys/chapters a day). That means that daily uploads are impossible until I establish a considerable gap between reviews finished and what book I'm currently playing.

So after I post my The Sophomore, Book 2 review, I'll be leaving this series on a little hiatus, just until I've played enough books to continue daily uploads for a week or so. Or, if you guys wouldn't mind waiting between books, I could just post every book starting with The Junior as soon as I finish it. Any feedback would be much appreciated, but my plan of action right now is to just take a hiatus after The Sophomore, Book 2.

Just wanted to update you guys on this (those of you that read these reviews anyways lol). I'll still be posting all the reviews up to The Sophomore, Book 2 until around next Tuesday, so yeah!

Review:

I’m going to sound like a broken record here, but points off for the genderlock, first and foremost. Now, on to my main gripe with this book, and that is, once again, the characters. Oh my god, these people are so toxic. My poor M/C is just trying her best to appease them all, and all she gets in return is bitterness and bitchiness. It’s insanity to me, like, why are you all so awful? Kaitlyn is honestly a tad bit better in this book than Book 1, because I can empathize personally with her coming out difficulties. That doesn’t excuse her treating M/C like garbage, but hey, it’s partially forgivable. Chris’s student council thing is semi-interesting, but Sebastian is such a one-note villain, and Chris himself doesn’t really feel all that important in this book. James getting mad at M/C for not telling him about Vasquez’s cancer is so stupid. What, James, do you want me to break the Professor’s trust just to tell you something? Why is it my fault that Vasquez asked me not to tell you? Why are you mad at me and not him? What is your goddamn issue James, oh my god? Same thing with Gabriella, like, girl, I was keeping it secret because he told me to. I respected his wishes, and that makes me the bad guy who has to apologize? I’m sorry, but once again, Becca and Madison come to save the day. They honestly kind of remind me of Santana and Brittany from Glee, and all the other characters remind me of Rachel. Annoying, loud, rude, and self-obsessed. Can M/C just take Zack and ditch this ramshackle friend group? Please? I only chose Chris as LI for his abs lol.
