Hurt a Little Less
Days, months, years,
I’ve watched the time fly by,
I’ve made peace with this broken shell you left behind,
Day after day, I fight.
It’s been long enough to realize pain fades but will never be extinct.
Each day it hurts a little less,
I sit here and reminisce,
Your lips ensuring a delicate kiss,
Your smile that was capable of changing my whole day,
Your laughter echoes through my heart,
I will never forget,
But each day it hurts a little less.
I’ve healed from all your lies and neglect,
Wondering what I could have done to keep you, less and less.
But there’s one thing I will never forget,
The pain I feel when I know,
You don’t think of me.

Beautifully painful and direct stab in a heart. The way it effortlessly transcends and balances the pain and healing factor is too good. Great job
thank you so much :))
