Anyone work for Pepsi, that can answer some questions?

Does vacation vary by local unions?

Do new hires have any vacation to start?

How far in advance do you schedule vacation?

I was recently offered a job at Pepsi, but I forgot to ask these important questions... I hate interviews.

Started with Pepsi in 05, had two weeks vacation in January of 06. We started vacation picks about a week or two before thanksgiving, was done two weeks before Christmas. Union shop.

Some locations don’t have unions. Vacation depends on time of year hired. After 1 year 2 vacation weeks and 10 personal days. And everyone is asked what week/s vacations they want. If they don’t want to answer now they can choose later. In my region it’s 3 vacations a week for everyone so 4 people can’t be on vacation at once. No vacation weeks on holiday weeks. Also depends on locations.

Thank you all for your responses.

Man, I really liked the idea of working for Pepsi... But it may be too hard to give up my vacation time and ability to schedule it whenever.

Yes, as does pay. After the first 90 days, yes. At my location everyone schedules vacation once a year. I enjoy working for Pepsi but your experience will be different depending on your job and where you work. Good luck.
