The only countries who are well managed, but could also do better , are SMALL countries: Singapore, Switzerland, Denmark, Sweden, Taiwan. None of which have big natural resources.
Once you cross 100M population under one country.... its getting worse and worse. Corruption tends to rise and collectivism.
