Liked: Getting a win for one. Kingy took some ripper grabs and goal kicking for the team for the most part was pretty good. The kids getting a run at the end was a nice little cherry but would’ve liked to see them have a bit more of a run earlier. Ecstatic for guys like Gresh and Paton to have solid games after their long times out. Hayes and Wood did some nice things.

Disliked: In the first quarter all our goals came from turnovers (according to the fox graphic) and that had me a little worried that we weren’t generating any scoring from stoppages. Felt like that was the case throughout the game as we weren’t nearly as damaging when the bombers cleaned up their act. The injuries to Billings and Clark are a real bummer on this. I didn’t like that Steele played the full 4 and would’ve liked to see him come off earlier but fortunately this time he was okay.

In short I’m happy we got away with a W before the season starts. The injuries we copped were brutal and I hope it’s short stints on the sidelines for both Hunter and JB.

The young additions seem refreshing and look like they’re up for the challenge straight away.

Tonight made me realise more then ever how much of a linchpin Marshall is to our whole team

If we sharpen up on our skills a little and stay fit and healthy (NO MORE INJURIES PLS) then we are looking good for this season, Im not expecting us to make top 4 or anything but I think top 8 should be within our reach.

Im really happy that we are kicking straight and King is contesting harder than ever. Butler looks alot cleaner, Gresh getting the minutes in, Steeley working hard as ever, Paton getting minutes in and above all else everyone looks alot fitter and leaner.

Obviously Billings and Clark muddy the waters abit but I’m confident we can do it without them for the first part of the season, as they come back slowly it can only mean good things.

Good win guys, I know its only a praccy but super positive signs.
