A Very Brief History of Regionals Available Outside of their Regions in North America (Not complete)
With the Oricorio announcement I've seen a lot of people bummed out about even more regionals being added to the game. It's totally understandable but I thought I'd start a thread to show that in reality, Niantic has been pretty decent about including regionals into events at a decent pace lately.
In the past year alone, Niantic has made at least one regional Pokémon available to players in North America every 1-3 months. Sometimes multiple at once.
EDIT: Someone was kind enough to share this link with an even longer breakdown of available regional mons - https://www.serebii.net/pokemongo/exclusives.shtml

Like I said, this is by no means supposed to be a super exhaustive list (the link above is better at that than I could be). But the point is - Niantic isn't trying to encourage travel during COVID or any of the other things I've seen mentioned here. You just have to be patient!

https://www.serebii.net/pokemongo/exclusives.shtml has a full list. The ultra unlock egg event was how I finished Gen 1.
Most excellent. Thank you!
(I don't know why I'm getting downvoted for pointing this all out.)
