Oh, i knew it...They will not stop! I just wrote to all of them in my country!
This back and forth it driving me crazy. Last news it was removed and then we now have 2 days until it's voted on again.
The Ban was removed few days after they proposed. I didn’t heard any other news.

Amendments that could result in banning mining and trading of crypto assets issued through POW have been introduced at the last minute into the MiCA proposal to be voted on Monday. Bitcoin, Ether, and other widely used crypto assets are concerned. This would be disastrous for Europe and its residents.
If you live in Europe, you can make a difference - contact your Member of European Parliament (MEP) and let them know that you oppose a Proof of Work ban in Europe
Look up your MEP here : https://www.europarl.europa.eu/meps/en/home
E-mail, call or tweet your MEP and tell them:
“An outright ban of proof-of-work assets will cripple the EU market, encourage circumvention of law, worsen consumer protection, and push the industry outside the EU – all with no benefit to the environment! Please ask the ECON Committee to oppose Amendments ALT A and ALT G.”
If you have enough time, a call and personal rephrasing of the above is preferred.
Thank you for your support of financial freedom

What can we do more ? As poor peasants, we don't have any way to be listened, our opinion does not matter for those people..
A petition ? Can we do that ? Has it been done already ?
Because we need to push a collective ''NO'' right now or it will be too late. There are no coming back from things like this.
Clearly and politely explaining to undecided MEPs (so, not Greens) that this isn't a good idea could make a difference. This is still quite a niche topic and I don't expect every member to be fully aware of the consequences.
It has been modified again since this was published
Oh OK, I see this now:
Perhaps should I exchange my BTC for something else, but I don't know which one.
This will have no consequence for BTC, only for Europe ...
Yes, but as an European, if there is no exchange for me to sell my BTC, it can become difficult. I used Bisq P2P in the past to sell some BTC, but even that could result in having a bank account blocked because of suspicious activities.
these dumbass got nothing better to do or what… banning this and that, ban ur own fucking ass… fuvking enough already
Perhaps it is time to phase out POW?
When I search for “Proof of Work Ban EU” all the results show that the wording to ban PoW has been removed from the legislation. Do you have any sources showing that it has been reintroduced?
The MiCA document seems to be the most recent (March 9) and the phrase 'proof of work' is only mentioned nine times in the entire document. The paragraph that actually discusses PoW the action item appears to be
"In this context, the Commission should work towards a holistic legislative approach which would be better placed to address such issues in a horizontal manner. White papers of crypto assets relying on the proof of work method should include an independent assessment of the crypto asset’s likely energy consumption"
I also don't find that. The only relevant section in the MiCA proposal seems to be 5aa:
While I disagree with this entire chapter on different levels it doesn't mention a ban.
Yeah banning PoW as a whole is ridiculous. I would think an actual ban on the horizon would be an all hands on deck moment for people with a lot of money invested in the space. The amount of innovation in not just compute but power management, cooling, and construction provide benefits that will be realized in other industries. Why can't we all just get along lol

I still have yet to see a link to an official document or website that shows these regulations have been reintroduced. There is no sources linked in that thread.
