Advice/Help needed. Airpod water damage.

About two days ago my left airpod slipped out and fell into my sofa crease, and on cue i accidently spilled some water on it. I cleaned it and left it out to dry sideways for 12 hours. I even put it in rice for 6 hours just for good measure even though ive been told it doesnt help much, but the problem is now i can barely hear through the left one. Its significantly less audible than the other one. Not sure what to do, i feel awful because they were a gift.
