Question regarding immersive waxing

I assume there are loads of people here that use immersive waxing on their chains hence I ask the question here.

I've heard people claim that they never had to clean the cassette as it always looks as good as new. But I did my first wax and rode 200km but there is alot of black gunk built up on the chain and the cassette. Is this normal?
