Planted some seedlings in egg cups and the soil is covered in mould.

Hi everyone. I'm new to planting. This is my first attempt at growing anything. I planted various garden herbs in some egg cups along in some all purpose soil. it's been around 6 days now and the soil is covered in white, fluffly mould.

Are my seedlings ruined? What can I do to prevent this happening again?
