I played through the story probably about 30 times now and i know EHG plans to have an alternative leveling route to endgame with dungeons, but that means forfeiting Passive Points and Idol slots in the story no? Is there a solution to that? i would love to skip the story until they add new Acts

as of right now you need to get to Stolen Lance as that is the earliest points for all the idol slots and extra passive points.
wait, so id you do everything up to that point, you are good to go to monoliths after it?
yeah. you can, in theory, start monos as early as arriving at chapter 4 but at that point you have all the idols and passives and most builds are at a point where you are good to go into monos

afaik if you press the map button there is a counter in the bottom left? (i think) that tells you how many you have eg 5/12 skill points
Iirc they said you'll be able to skip parts of the story with the upcoming dungeons, just like you can skip to act with the current dungeon I think. Yes you'll need to do some of the side quests for passive points nd idol slots, but it's still much quicker.
Also there are only 12 masteries and yo usaid you ran the campaign about 30 times, I'd say you could just respec some characters to try out different builds with the same mastery instead of levelling a new character for every single build.

but its fine i enjoy building up new chars alot more than grinding emp monos for the 3% dps inc gear drop just wished they had an alternative to story like d3 did with adventure mode
Currently there is a cap on passive points and idol slots that can be obtained from the story, so you don't need to complete all these missions.
I don't think that dungeons would skip huge chunks of the story, nonetheless you could use them to storm through the acts and return to the side quests later, when you have higher movespeed and developed movement skills. Passives are important, but you can more or less fare well with a few magic items with higher tier damage/res affixes too, in my experience.
