Can we stop ASSuming that dads do absolutely nothing to contribute to parenting?

I made an announcement that I finally accepted a job as a STNA (nursing assistant) & while I got many congratulatory comments… one person went “WhO’s GoNnA wAtCh [son’s name]??”

Excuse me? Does my partner (his father) not exist in the equation? Is it always my responsibility to care for our son & not his dad’s? Are you saying that all dads do is go to work, come home, eat, & go to sleep?

My life didn’t end just b/c I became a mom…
