Suggestion for upgrade changes.
So right now upgrading your minis requires battle victories to complete quests/advance on the horse trail. Basically, the issue with this is that you need to win to upgrade your troops, but you can't win (consistently) with low level troops. This kind of trap makes things really frustrating.
I propose implementing some sort of exp point system instead, based on how many minis you KO during a battle, awarded at the end of the match (win or lose). As an example, say you get 1 exp point per opposing mini/Hero that gets KO'd. On average you might get 12 exp per battle if you're the victor, and could still get close to that if you don't win.
Preferably, the player would be able to allocate the exp to the minis in that party as they want (only troops used in that battle could get them) but even if it were spread evenly it would be good.
This way, you don't get stuck in a cycle of not being able to level your minis. The victor would continue to get trophies and maybe even some bonus exp while the other person only got exp for knocking out minis. Now, eventually, you can upgrade your troops and get more wins to be able to upgrade faster.
This suggestion comes from having gotten very frustrated in not being able to progress. With not only a pure-RNG battle system to contend with, your opponent will likely have higher level, stronger troops also working against you. This exp system puts a measure of control in the player's hands and I believe it would create a much more enjoyable experience.
