Thank you for everyone for the advice and info in the previous thread about my ATI Titan 3 inch 1911 continuously jamming. Have tried multiple mags, ammo, springs (currently 24#), extractor (WC bulletproof), and slide stop.

Here's the original link and recommendations.

We were able to rule out limp wristing the gun with our trip there. Someone shooting at the range noticed us working on it, and said he's very familiar with 1911's, and offered to shoot with his ammo and some of his mags, and we all noticed that it seemed to be catching a bit while putting the round into the battery.

Both people thought it was the extractor being too tight, and recommended two steps - take the extractor out of both of my springfield 1911's that shoot perfectly, and see what happens with those. The other possibility was buying a Weigand Extractor Adjusting Tool, Weigand Extractor tension Gague, and a trigger scale, which will be about the same price if not lower, than having a competent 1911 gunsmith adjust the extractor.

this is the extractor adjusting tool

At this point, many of you have said it's time to cut my losses on this, and move on, as it's a lower tier quality gun. I think waiting for my snapcaps to arrive and switching out the extractors is free, so that's worth a shot. I need a trigger gauge to certify my personal weapons are within standards to carry in the field for my job, so I might as well buy one of those anyway. That means I'd be spending about 50 dollars for the tool and the inserts. Still waffling on that option, and may just put the gun on VAGT with a list of it's issues and see of some other "1911 expert" wants to try his luck.

Thanks for the info and help along the way, it's much appreciated.
