It’s great that they showed this clip, because now I’m gonna go in with super low expectations.
I want this to be good. I really do. So if this looks as bad as it does but the show is good, I’m gonna be super surprised and happy!
I just don't go into the shows with any expectations anymore since all of them have been incredibly mediocre to straight up bad. I like most of the films, but the shows are just so low energy.

My big problem is that none of these shows, even the ones I liked, never really justified being six hour TV shows rather than just really tight two hour movies. I feel like the 'low energy' complaint might stem from that, they have to pump the breaks constantly because they've got a runtime to fill.
Agreed. Almost all of them IMO would be better as a tight two hour film or a proper 8-10 ep season. This 6 hour movie middle ground is really unsatisfying. There's also somehow sluggishly paced for the first 5 then the finale tries to wrap up 10 plot threads and set up 10 more so the whole thing feels rushed.

Yeah, weirdly I'd pick one of the old Marvel TV series over a Marvel Studios series... they seemed more creative to me...

Yeah there isn't really enough here to judge the writing but the visuals and direction are very unimpressive, I wonder if this and Ms Marvel is where the MCU shows start gradually cutting corners now that their legitimacy has been established
Just looked up the creator and it seems his credits are pretty vague, he's written for a few notable things but it sounds like it's mostly been first drafts that he's sinced distanced himself from by saying the final movie was different (ie 2015 Fantastic 4 and Death Note)
Why does this look so completely TV standard?

Don't understand this sub, consistently shit on the D+ shows yet stuff like Peacemaker is wow omg it's so maazing omg.
It's kind of a terrible clip. You've got interviews about how this is a 'deep character study' and the 'darkest MCU show'... and what we've got here wouldn't be out of place from Night at the Museum.
The show may be good, that'd be nice. But the clip is 'guy is nervously snarky while running away from villain doing glowy cgi magic and summoning fun cgi monsters to chase them' which is an incredibly by-the-books way to plot a kids/family action adventure movie.
If they're trying to sell the 'dark gritty character study' then 'scene right out of Goosebumps: The Movie' is not doing it. Could just be poor clip choice, I suppose. But from what I've actually seen, they're just seriously overselling a fairly safe action-adventure.
Yeah I had to cringe at Peacemaker a few times , Potty humor is apparently smart when DC does it
Well one thing I have never understood the entire time I have been on reddit are the DC fan boys.
They are mind boggling.
Tell me you didn’t watch peacemaker without telling me you didn’t watch peacemaker.
Peacemaker was trash. Gunn's humor without refinement is just random acts of violence and grade school sex and penis jokes.
Looks so good, I’m hyped as hell.

I know people take comments from YouTube and post them in the Reddit thread, but I've seen this same comment in multiple different spots across different Moon Knight clips.

I'm really looking forward to this.

There was no way they'd do that.
You gotta remember these marvel shows are also targeted at little kids who'd tune out if they went that route.

I agree. I'll probably watch it once its completely released but Oscar Isaac is a phenomenal actor and could really carry a slower paced, introspective superhero show.
The hype for these shows seems to get smaller with each series. It might actually be the superhero-fatigue we've all been hearing about or more likely just a lack of variety.
On a different note, its really late and your comment about Ex Machina had me scrambling to google "Oscar Issac Ex Machina" before I remembered that specific movie was called "Ex Machina" and you weren't referring to the upcoming adaptation of the comic book "Ex Machina" ALSO starring Oscar Isaac but re-titled "The Great Machine."
I wouldn’t be suprised if they’re promoting the more generic style scenes but we’ll actually get more interesting scenes in the show itself… maybe i’m just hoping…
/boogle
Of course it will be generic supercape crap. IT IS A DISNEY MARVEL THING.....
I still don't know why people feel surprised, it is the formula that permeate through out all MCU movies and the shows, they play it very safe at this point. The shows are just worse because there is nothing in them to justify the 6 hours runtime, either they should make the shows longer for the plot and characters to play out or just cut back the runtime of the show
It blows my mind that people don't get it.
Every single MCU show/movie is a strict formula whose primary purpose is to sell THE NEXT show...
Well people wish that wasn’t the case!
