NEMA 10-30
I just discovered my work garage has NEMA 10-30 receptacles. I haven't asked yet if there's some fee to use them -- they're right next to other spots and aren't labeled or anything.
But when I search around about 10-30, I'm finding a lot of warnings that it's a deprecated standard and could be dangerous to use with an EV because it doesn't have a separate ground. This is strange to me because the garage was recently completely renovated and the receptacles are brand new.
Does anyone have any opinions on this? Is it really that dangerous? Maybe I should just ask if they're grounded -- but not sure if anyone would actually know that.
Has anyone used 10-30 to charge? Did you use an adapter to 14-50 or something, or find a charger with a 10-30 plug?
(And before anyone asks, yes, it's definitely a 10-30 and not a 14-30. There are three prongs and the two are at an angle, not parallel.)
