New here, starting FET soon
Hi everyone, I’m new here, and smiled from ear to ear to learn this community exists! This is such a sensitive topic.
Anyway, I’m 35F and have endometriosis. I struggled with infertility and recurrent miscarriages for 10 years and 3 months before getting pregnant with my son via my 3rd embryo transfer. He is 2.5 now. During those years, we had 2 miscarriages, a failed adoption, 2 failed IUI’s, 3 endometriosis surgeries, 1 egg retrieval, OHSS, 1 failed transfer, 1 transfer that ended in miscarriage, and a whole lot of credit card debt and depression.
By the time my son was born, via a very traumatic, premature c-section, I was absolutely certain I wanted no more children. I even asked my doctor to just do a hysterectomy while she was doing the c-section. It was brutal. (She didn’t, of course. That’s no state of mind to be making big decisions.) When my son was 13 months old, I became pregnant naturally. I wasn’t even excited about it at first. After the shock had worn off a few days later, I started feeling optimistic about it. Had a beta drawn and it looked good. Had a 2nd beta drawn and it had dropped by half. Lost the baby. Felt a lot of feelings from confusion to guilt to anger. How unfair.
But now, we do want to try again. We have 6 frozen embryos left.
We have great health insurance now and everything is completely covered, which is a gut punch after spending over $40,000 out of pocket before… I’ve been doing all of my updated testing— bloods, genetic panel, HSG, SIS, mock transfer, etc.
Now, we are just waiting on our PGT-A biopsy to come back. We didn’t do it initially because of cost. Hoping & praying we have at least 1 genetically normal one!
Anyway, glad to be here. 👋🏼
