MBP 2018 vs 2019? (15 in)

So, I am either buying a $1000, fully speced out MBP 15" from 2018 (i9, 32gb ram, vega 20) or a base 16" MBP for $1500 (16gb ram, i7) for video editing. I use After Effects quite a lot a long with other programs in the Adobe suit and I have heard that the 2018 MBP with the i9 chip has massive thermal throttling issues.

Despite this, I am heavily leaning towards buying the 2018 model due to the 500 dollar price difference as well as the better specs on paper but I am hesitant. Also, not sure how relevant it is but I plan to use bootcamp to do some gaming as well.

I could really use some advice on which one is a better buy and why.
