S6/Movie

I am now convinced, that this entire season is an extreme slow burn and an essential setup, almost completely for the movie. A lot of complaints this season have been the episodes ticking by but we “haven’t really gotten anywhere” or “nothing has happened yet”. For those of us that have enjoyed this season thus far, can agree that yes- not much headway has been made.

After episode 4 I am certain these last 2 episodes will of course be crazy with great moments, But ultimately be a setup for a 3 hour film. Perhaps longer. Which could work out great, just possibly frustrating for current viewers. This season is heavyyyy man.

Final thoughts on last episode:
Tommy walking away from the funeral immediately made me think of Grace’s offscreen funeral which he also fled. Then him shooting the girl and breaking down in the woods felt heavy. Contrast to the beautiful conversation with Arthur (one of the best scenes in the shows history for me) That scene was so diverse, Tommy forgetting his lighter was a nice touch. Went from sounding like he was being a dick to Arthur, to drinking for the first time in 4 years, to sweetly pointing out that Arthur is the best brother in the world.
