Kevina, Windmills, and Kangaroos
I worked in Europe for the US Government a few years back. My work friends and I were given an entire week off, so we hopped on a train to Barcelona. On the train there was another group of people our age and we started chatting.
Enter Kevina. To be fair, Kevina also fits the definition of a valley girl blonde. Our train was passing by some very large windmills, and one of my friends mentioned how it's just a matter of time until all energy will be green energy.
Kevina is puzzled. She says there is nothing green about windmills. We ask her why. Kevina says they aren't stopping climate change, but are helping go cause it.
Now we are puzzled. We ask her what she means. Kevina explains that fanning the wind doesn't help cool the earth down, and that the amount of electricity required to spin the blades is contributing to emissions.
Honestly, we didn't have any idea if she was just messing with us or if this is what she honestly believed, so we all just kind of looked at each other trying to contain our grins. We kept waiting for the "I'm just kidding" part, but it never came.
But I think we got the answer a few minutes later. There was an Australian sitting close by and his accent catches Kevinas attention. Kevina asks this Aussie what he does for living back at home.
This guy must have been listening to Kevina earlier. He tells her he is training Kangaroos to box for the Australian army. Kevina 100% believes this, and the Aussie goes on to tell her that bars in Australia frequently use these trained Kangaroos as bouncers at clubs.
We just couldn't take it anymore and moved ourselves to a different car and broke out laughing. As far as I know Kevina booked a vacation to go see the bouncer Roos🦘
