Freshman year I already suck at school

I'm a freshman in ME and I'm well through my second semester by now and I'm frustrated. My first semester I didn't do too bad (I got a 3.3 gpa) but I made it my mission to do better second semester and somehow I've done worse (2.9-2.7). I know what I've been doing wrong and that I need to fix my studying habits but it's too far into the semester for that so the only thing I can do is just fight it out and hope I don't flunk. It's annoying too because all my peers I try to ask to study with and for homework help have taken tons of AP courses back in high school so the stuff I'm having a hard time with comes by easy for them. I'm talking people who ace every test without even glancing at lecture notes.

I honestly feel like I'm probably doing the worst out of everyone in my major and I'm worried that if this is how I'm doing my freshman year then the next couple years are going to be hell.
