unique tangible weaponry/armor concepts

Prompt

One of the coolest weaponry/armor concepts I know of is Sanderson's shardblades and plates. But I'm curious about other concepts everyone's come up with. Something that isn't straight up magic like in Mistborn.

Mine is tattoos. You get a tattoo of a weapon on your body, however many can fit, and you can summon it. The size of the tattoo isn't to scale of the actual weapon, the tattoo can have accompanying symbols or runes to dictate size and material. I haven't worked out the "con/disadvantage/cost" to it, other than if you let the weapon go, it immediately disappears back into your tattoo.

One con would definitely be ranged weaponry because I haven't figured out how to "reload" them yet. I'm thinking just make the projectiles separate, you'll really have to make and carry them around. Another could be the cost of getting the tattoo itself requires either immense sacrifice or physical pain, more than real-life tattoos. But that's still up in the air.

Idk if it's been used elsewhere though! If it has, through anime, movies, or books, do let me know because I would love to know more/read about it.

I haven't thought about armor much, though.
