WIBTA if I asked my husband to sleep in the guest room?

Not the A-hole

Okay I know the title is weird, bear with me please. Also please forgive formatting since I’m on my phone. I (26F) and nearing my last few weeks of pregnancy. This last trimester has been extremely rough on me physically and it came suddenly and out of nowhere. My husband (35M) is an absolute angel and has been helping me out as much as possible.

Here’s the issue—my husband snores. When I say snore, I mean I can hear him snoring when I’m downstairs in the kitchen and we have a two story house and keep the bedroom door closed at all times. His snoring was never an issue either until after I hit my second trimester (we spent three years sharing a bed and his snoring has always been like white noise to me). Now that I’m super pregnant his snoring quite frankly makes me want to throw something at him to wake him up sometimes. It does not help that he has gained weight through the pandemic (separate issue, but it makes snoring worse).

He works nights so he’s only home for the night 3-4 days a week as it is. I love him and I love sharing a bed with him but I cannot take his snoring. I have an autoimmune issue which causing my body to randomly produce hives and sometimes lip swelling, and it’s gotten worse since hitting third trimester. It’s to the point where I take a minimum of 4 Benadryl pills along with other high dose antihistamines and have even had to go on two rounds of short term steroids to control the flare ups.

I’m just getting out of a flare up and haven’t slept in about two weeks because the hives get worse at night and because pregnancy sucks at the end when you try to sleep. Like I said before—I love my husband, just not his snoring. I can’t sleep with earplugs (I’ve tried and gotten ear infections multiple times due to my ears being weirdly shaped). He has tried a mouth guard to help as well but it never stayed in his mouth since he sleeps with his mouth open and it’s makes it worse. Realistically he probably needs a CPAP but he isn’t willing to get it yet for reasons that don’t need to be stated on the internet.

WIBTA is I asked him to sleep in the spare room for a few nights so I can get some sleep? The spare room has a king sized bed and I would sleep in it, but I need to sleep semi-reclined at this point because that’s the only way I can get any remote comfort without compromising blood flow to the baby (not supposed to sleep on your back because it compresses your blood flow to uterus). Our bedroom has a king bed with adjustable frame which is why I am considering asking him to move rooms for a few nights just so I can sleep a bit.

So Reddit: WIBTA if I asked him to sleep in the spare room for a few nights?
