New Mandela Effect involving Mister Rogers' death

So I somehow managed to find myself at Mister Rogers' wikipedia page, and I noticed something that struck me as odd. I noticed that Fred Rogers had passed away in 2003. From what I recall, I remember it came as a shock to a lot of people and I quickly fled to YouTube to watch video clips of Mister Rogers and I remember reading all of the comments about how sad people were that he had passed away.

I distinctly remember one young girl who said she never saw him on TV (since his last show aired in 2001), but that she was devastated because he seemed like such a nice man. The problem is that YouTube was founded 2 years after his alleged death. I remember his death being much closer to 2009-2012, and that's what also inspired the biopic of Mister Rogers starring Tom Hanks, which was released in 2019. Why wait 16+ years to create a biopic about Mister Rogers? Studios are usually quick to jump on a money-making opportunity shortly after a celebrity dies.

Thoughts?

EDIT: I found this article in the L.A. Times archives, the URL displays the date of Fred Rogers in 2003, but the article for his obituary was written in December of 2014??
