How I seem to get reviews, since it is something I see many struggle with.
I have received 4 reviews in the last day, bringing me to 178 in 12 months and 33 In the last month.
I have sold 90 items in the past month, most of which is media or electronics of some sort. So I am at about 36% of buyers leaving reviews.
This is not overly high from the anecdotal stats I see on Google, but regardless, I noticed a remarkable increase in review engagement by doing one extra thing. I have been in customer service for almost 20 years between retail and call centers, so I just use those same skills, i.e. engage with your customers, answers questions ASAP, over deliver on your promises, etc.
Then I received my first 25 dollar coupon for shipping supplies and bought 200 thank you cards. At first, I would write a note but then decides to try just throwing one into every package.
I can't say definitely that it is what has helped my reviews, but it is essentially free and easy to do.
Sorry to ramble, but this is one of those things I wish I could have told myself when starting out so I did not worry about stats as much.
