Advice on Pharmacy Tech Plans?

☑️ Extracurriculars

I am currently a freshman & trying to plan out some opportunities for clinical experience. I have a pharmacy tech job lined up with Walgreens in my hometown for over the summer, where I will get the 500 hours I need for the PTCB certification. I then plan to apply for a pharmacy tech position in a hospital during the school year as intended for clinical hours.

I previously worked in the pharmacy before college and generally enjoyed my experience, so I’m hoping that I can continue that while accumulating meaningful clinical hours.

Does this sound alright? I know there is a lot of debate around pharmacy tech experience not counting as clinical, but I want to be 100% sure before I commit my entire summer to the wrong thing. I don’t have the time available to get a EMT license or commit to CNA hours, or I would pursue those options.
