How the hell do you organize a pickup?!

They retired my big beautiful Chevy van and gave me a 1/2 ton Chevy pickup. It's a shitty regular cab, 8' box with a bed slide and a plain old contractors cap. It's horrible.. does anyone have any great tricks for keeping them organized? I have my toolbox attached to the bed slide, common parts and consumables in the side compartments, and those stupid dewalt boxes for other things, like one for cordless tools, vacuum pump and hoses etc etc.

The easiest way is to organise the sale of said pickup, and replace it with a van instead.

I wish, they buy a fleet of trucks every so many years for each dept. This year was us.

New job, working out of a pick up is the worst.

I have a pickup, but a better arrangement from the sounds of it. Extended cab, 8' box with a big fiberglass cap. I mounted 2 refrigerant towers all the way in the front and built some other shelves. Also I bought about 12 of these for contactors, capacitors, fuses ect... I also carry way less than I did in my van. You just aren't going to be able to hold as much stuff unfortunately. Can't beat a van for service work. MY company still mostly buys chevy vans too. I'm curious what guys in the taller Euro style vans think of them.

Worked somewhere that had some, tons of fun on windy days. Fuck going over a skyway.

I had a truck with a bed slide years ago and the second best advice I can give is milk crates. A bunch of crates on the slide so the things that aren't in boxes at least stay where you put them.

The BEST advice I can give is never park on a hill. And DEFINITELY don't slide the bed out with the tailgate pointing downhill

I did learn that the wrong way

Thats my current setup. I got totes from grainger. I have motors and parts in one, electrical in another. I have a big bin for 3 jugs of refrigerant, pump sprayer, B-Tank and 2 nitros. That goes in the back for weight reasons. Left side of cap is setup with acro bins/ storge bins that hold parts. Right side of cap is hardware, screws chemicals, other random shit. Also string up some led strips in there for light
