If you have an NVidia card that's apparently the problem. I've seen this exact behavior on multiple distros (currently on Fedora 35) and the fix is to restart gnome. Press alt+F2 then r in the popup to fix it.

I do have a Nvidia card. But is this a driver problem or a gnome problem because then i know who to forward this bug report to

I think it's an NVidia problem. My very limited understanding is we just have to wait for them to fix it.

I think it's the hard drive going to sleep aswell and not waking up

What card do you have?

It's probably nvidia problem since other distros seems to have the same issue

In arch Linux it makes this glitch in the login screen for a second but it somehow never escalates this harch like in Pop OS. Seems like it restarts for a second in arch Linux for some reason vor smth

Yo they should actually make a pixel adwaita icon theme. I'd use it in a heartbeat.

I get the same thing sometimes. It's inconsistent, so I try not to wake from suspend. Rather shut down every night before bed.

IMHO sleep it's self is troublesome feature it glitches out on all devices and operating systems from all companies if I had a nickel for everythread abisleep issues on any device I'd have some dollars by now

3
LinkloadOP•

ok but if the feature is there, out of beta. and i want to use it i should be able to use it normally without this stuff happening. i never had this stuff happen on windows. but credit where credit is due. this is the only kinda big bug i have encountered on linux after around a year of usage.

then they should offer it? but, in all my years of interneting and PC repair and IT. IT'S ALWAYS an in issue with sleep. hey it may be worse on linux as it can at times have limited hardware support or bug testing but, it's sleep. and hey you'll hate windows MS sold off all of thier testing labs! Most IT and sysadmins HATE patch Tuesday because MS break things so often. especially hardware related. the world operates on minimum viable product these days

You can login after suspending? My password field always glitches out when I try to come back from suspend and I can't type anything in

Hi there! I also had this issue, and I fixed it by downgrading to the old drivers (the one that start with a 4, can't recall the whole version number).

once I had this issue, rebooted and doesn't happened anymore. don't know how it was fixed, maybe an update. 🤷
