Seems like a bad idea to mess with viewport navigation when there were no complaints in this area. Anyone know if there is a setting I am missing change it back to the way it was before?

Yes, there is a fix
I did copy the pref from older maya version to 2023, in my case it was 2020, and now it works perfect

Can confirm this works. Removing the pref folder of 2023 and on launch prompt using an older versions prefs has alt scroll working as before. You do need an older version of Maya to use the old preferences of course.

And now it doesn't work again, and the thing i did just yesterday isn't working anymore.

Yeah if you haven't found a work around yet I'd stick with an older version. I currently have both 2023 and 2020 I think installed, hastle but hopefully they put it back to how it was. Haven't been on in a while so who knows maybe they fixed it.

Doesnt mean much when i need to play twister in my head to navigate the viewport efficiently.
