LIFX app is worst app ever to exist

as the title says, been spending last hour trying to reconnect lights that got unpaired during power outage. Can this app get anymore confusing? Jesus i'm so frustrated right now trying to setup a simple light.

Edit: just wanna clarify that the lights themselves are great and love them once they are setup. It’s the app. It leaves me frustrated almost every time I have to use it.

wait.
Why do you have to pair them again? If they were already paired and working they should just turn back on once power is restored. You know, like when you turn them off at the switch.

Bc it kept saying offline even though they were on and nothing fixed this. Then I had to dig online to figure out how to delete the existing lights and reinstall. It should not have taken over an hour to reinstall two lights.

I really think you made a lot of extra work for yourself. You likely just needed to be patient; maybe power cycle the bulbs once you know the WiFi was back on.

This happens to me as well when the power/wifi goes out. I could wait all day and they'll never reconnect or show up as online - deleting and repairing is the only thing that will get them back online for me.

And deleting accessories is not intuitive, I had to leave the app and go online to figure out how to do it. That’s always not a good user experience.

I've had the power go out on me twice while I've had my bulbs. Both at night.
One time I just waited a bit and they connected once power came back. The other it was the middle of the night so I turned the light switches off so they wouldn't light up when I was sleeping if/when the power came back. Power didn't come back till mid-day, but once I got home from work I turned all the lights back on, and they connected during the evening.

should

Maybe they got connected to a non 2.4 channel on the router.

I've been looking to buy some lights but the market sucks for 2022. Lifx are the best in terms of light quality but I'd prefer them with a better connection/protocol on a hub.

The LIFZ app isn't great, but I don't think it's your main problem here

agree'd it is absolutley terrible. it used to be better years ago before they made this huge overhaul. total shit, confusing AF. i dont even turn on my lights anymore due to it being such a pain in the ass to reconnect them all after a power outage.

Sorry if you’re aware of this but to reconnect the lights after deleting them requires you to scan or renter the code, on newer lights it’s stamped on the light older ones it’s supplied on a small booklet

That's only for homekit, right? You definitely don't need the code to add to the app.
