Seeking System for 80s Cliques Movie Merged with Urban Fantasy

Looking for a PBtA system that is geared towards combining magic and the vibe of an 80s movie into one package. My players want to play a greaser, a stoner, and a bookworm. I want the setting to take place in a future version of our DnD world, where Waterdeep is now New York. Magic is still prevalent but now incorporated into things like the World Wide Weave, or Sending Stone Cellphones. We want to be able to tell stories about worrying about the exam, juggling social circles, and discovering who these characters are as they wrestle with their identities in a sleepy, out of the way town. It needs to be able to handle scuffles and small combats, but in a narrative way.

I've seen systems that handle the 80s angle, and some that handle the dungeon delving of a typical DnD game, but would like one that combines these, or is a good basis to build off of. Ideally hoping for one that has the vibe already, but if not I'm willing to homebrew a bit and tweak things.

I think you’re describing Mall Goths vs Visigoths: https://necromancy.itch.io/goths

While I found a different game elsewhere in the replies to this post I will be adding that to my list of games to do a one-shot of one of these days. I have some history buff friends, and I think that play on words would amuse them.

Feels like you could do a hack easily enough of something like Monster Hearts, AW or MOTW, but I don't know of a game that delivers that package out of the gate.

You could theoretically hack Urban Shadows to do the trick. But you may want to hack from scratch.

I recommend you try to take a look at Sunset Kills. I don't know what stage the game is on right now, though.

I think this is exactly what I'm looking for. One of my players that also knows a good deal of PBtA looked at the info on the DriveThruRPG page and is already hyped for possibly using it. Thank you for directing me to this. You hit the nail on the head!
