Question about looking at other men as a bisexual man (see description for details)...

Advice

I am a 33yo bisexual male.

I have tried to Google it, but no answers.

Do gay men look at straight men in a sexual way? Like how straight men look at pretty women? And do you just look at every man that you find attractive? Or do you only use your "Gaydar"? Or both?

I just found out 2 months ago that I am bisexual, so I'm still a rookie, but I don't know if I can look at every guy I find attractive.

Yes? A hot guy is a hot guy. Some are less interested when they find out he’s straight, some are more. Do straight guys not find a woman attractive because she’s a lesbian?

Yeah you're right, good answer, thanks...

But on the other hand, maybe some women pretend to be lesbian for the attention? And for some men, that is more of a kink/fetish?

no, now you're overthinking it

Omg, man, if you want a serious discussion about your issue, one thing for sure, you could refrain from idiotic comments like this.

I have not ever known any woman to pretend to be a lesbian for attention. I think most woman get plenty of attention wanted and unwanted without having to pretend to be a lesbian. Seems counterintuitive.

You talk as if you've just been diagnosed with covid in a rapid test. Uh huh.

He did a covid test and instead of a line he got the entire bisexual flag. That's how he found out. 😂

It's something that happens naturally lol. I still assume most straight guys are made uncomfortable by the thought of a gay guy eyeballing them lol so I try to be a courteous gentleman and not stare at their virtue.

I think there are more straight men than you imagine who don't mind a little attention from either sex but would stop short of actually going all the way. And that's okay too. For them a compliment is a compliment.

That second part of your answer makes it harder for me. I mean, I would look (carefully, not stare) at boobs and butts of pretty women, so I hoped it would be the same to look that way at nice guys the same way...

I think straight guys are more taken aback from being checked out since I think straight women are raised to feel a sense of slut shame so they don't do it as much.

It's a weird thing for most guys I think and some find it flattering/funny or it brings out their homophobia within.

Hetero* not str@ight

No. It’s normal for breeders to look at women like they are an attraction on an amusement park because your pedophilic breeding fetishes are accepted within YOUR society. Homosexuals are not, however, and every breeder is repulsed by the thought of not being perceived as a breeder by its kind by not playing out fetishistic power fetishes, and allowing the presumed “lesser kind” ruin its false self-perception of superiority.

Your post rings true when I think of old songs like Ain't No Sunshine still being celebrated.

Really?

Unless the man is staring at me I don’t look at him regardless of how attractive he is, it’s a good solution because then I don’t get rejected or give a straight man the satisfactory of telling the story of how “all gays want him and hit on him”

This is a really helpful answer, thanks.

I don't have much of a gaydar and why would I refrain looking at hot guys because they are straight? We just see guys and if they are attractive look at them just like straight guys do with women. That's a pretty weird question thh.

RSmith892OP•

This is also a really good answer, thank you too...

I like guys too. But don't look at them at all. Bcoz anyone can sense if someone is looking at them. And I don't like giving someone this proud feeling that they are appealing to me. For this reason I try not to make eye contact not even for a sec. But still doubtful about looking at people even in non sexual ways. Bcoz people look at each other all the time( do they?). What's wrong with me?

RSmith892OP•

I hear you, thanks for the answer...

LMAO yes you can look at whoever so long as you aren't being a creep. you're overthinking it! if you can look at and talk to women you can talk to other guys. they're just people after all :) it gets more comfortable as time goes on tho, trust

I just LOVE MEN, PERIOD, whether they be gay, straight, etc.

I often really think that I love men more than women do!

guy805•

I sometime feel like I’m more attracted to straight guys. Not sure why. Perhaps it may be that I’m a bottom and want to be man dominated

ImpactOk331•

not sure how legit a gaydar actually is (mine is broken or it's gone, lol), but yeah i look at every guy who is my type, and considering that most guys happen to be straight i'm sure i'll be looking at straight guys most of the times. however for obvious reasons i'll not go further if i know a guy is straight.

and obviously i'll do it in a way the guy won't realize. kinda awkward getting checked out by a guy as a straight guy, so yeah for obvious reasons i just peek but don't stare, and then move on.

basically you can look at whoever you want. but no matter how nice, sweet or cute a guy might be to you, when he says he's straight then he is. it happens a lot that we get a crush on our straight bestie and despite knowing he's straight we keep getting mixed feelings and that's when things can get messy or friendships destroyed.

that being said, just like a straight guy doesn't check out every female human that is passing by, i assume gay guys don't check out every single guy either.

also a rookie here btw. recently accepted the fact i'm not straight and most likely gay. i guess whatever female attraction that is left right now is what was being taught to me while i grew up (that guys like girls, and so forth..)

2

It is not that if someone is straight then it is an instant turn on for a gay guy, No you have to be hot first, maybe it is that straight guy personality which is hot, or maybe his look is my type, I know masculanity is attractive, but it is not enough at least for me

90% of the posts on this sub are people fawning over straight guys they can't have.

1
RSmith892OP•

That was not my reason, I legitimately didn't know...

2

How do you just “find out” you’re a “bi” is beyond me.

1
RSmith892OP•

I always knew I was straight, 'til a couple of months ago, when I noticed I began to like men too. It can happen...

an_ethans_life•

I think you’re beginning to realize how bitter and unforgiving many people in this community are. Please ignore these idiotic comments, cause they’ll make you nauseous

2
[deleted]•

No it can’t. You were probably delusional, or are delusional now.

Wtf makes you think it can’t happen? That’s a pretty narrow and fucked up view of sexuality.

Discreetly sure. But, even women find it really uncomfortable if you stare at them noticeably in public. When judging if a guy is physically attractive, I don't care what's happening in their brain.

1
powermonkey123•

You can check out any guy or girl regardless of their sexuality, just do it in a manner that is ethical, not creepy. Staring for prolonged amount of time as well as eyeballing a person top to bottom is rude and creepy regardless of their gender or the situation.

1
Frankbot5000•

Yeah, no filter. Because, people are people. You can look but there are risks.

1
raincolors•

I’ll check out any man I think is hot, I can usually guess somewhat intuitively whose gay but not always. I won’t hit on a straight man though, I respect their autonomy and understand they don’t want someone they aren’t into coming on to them.

1
bearboy89•

“Look at” absolutely. Pursuing is a different story.

I don’t care what someone’s sexual orientation is if I’m just looking.

1
RSmith892OP•

Alright a lot of you gave me good answers, thanks for that.

Do you look at women in a sexual way.. yes your being judged
