it's been happening for the last couple of hours and seems to be getting worse...posts that show multiple comment counts show no comments when they're opened.

Lol. 10 comments on this post yet only 1 is showing from 14 minutes ago.
The old reddit and new reddit comments are confirmed to be delivered (or stored) differently. There's likely a backlog with old reddit right now.
I really wish the engineers over at Reddit wouldn't do this. It makes it unnecessarily difficult to debug and makes it a frustrating user experience for users of old reddit

perfect example...I see the message that your comment generated in my inbox, but when I open up my original post, I see nothing.
sometimes it takes a while for the message to show up in the feed. I don't understand why. it's been like this for quite a while for me as well. I guess maybe they'll fix it someday
yeah, I've noticed the comments do eventually show up, but it's been taking much longer in the last couple of hours than usual. redditstatus shows nothing out of the ordinary, though.

Same here. Seems to be an issue with old reddit. I can see all comments if I switch to new reddit.

I did see it after finally seeing another comment re old vs new. I hope it gets fixed too, I'm with you on hating the new layout.

Came to this sub to see if I was the only one that this was happening to, I also thought maybe I was banned, all this started this evening for me. At this moment it shows 12 post to this thread, 6 are showing and I bet mine isn't for now.
seems to be only be an issue with old reddit at this point...if you temporarily switch to new reddit you should see everything

I'm getting replies to comments, and when I go into the post in question, my own comments aren't even showing up, let alone the reply. Comments are taking forever to show. Am looking at a post that is 19 minutes old, with 10 comments. Not one comment is showing as of 7:59 pm.

Definitely a bug of some kind. I had notifications on my phone of replies but when I clicked to open Reddit those replies weren't showing. They showed up 10 hours later.

You can check your username at rev eddit DOT see oh Emm for auto-removed comments and r/shadowban for shadow banning.
