my (ex) best friend wanted to be friends with my sexual assaulter (my ex)

Vent

**This is my first time posting so please forgive my ignorance about using the app I don't need advice or anything, I just wanted to vent and let my feelings out.

Back story: My ex (18M) and I (18F) were dating for a year and 2 months, I live in a very Conservative Arab country so sexual activity was very taboo and shamed. I was a virgen with no experience in kissing, being in a relationship, talking to boys or anything of that sort. I went to college and reconnected with my ex as I knew him from school. I liked him and I liked hanging out with him, but I barely knew him. One month after being class mates he stated in a joking manner that he wants to be my boyfriend, I laughed it off because I thought it was a joke and agreed, but he was serious, With that being said I became his girlfriend. The relationship was moving to fast for me but I thought it was normal. He said he loved me after 2 weeks, he kissed me after 1 month (even tho I wasn't ready at all) and I turned him down. From that moment on I wasn't comfortable with anything he was doing (touching my leg, grabing my ass, my boobs, my private parts). I stayed for a year and 2 months, and I broke up with him for his toxic family.

Now for the actual story: I was friends with my now Ex best friend (18F) for all my life (now all of us are 21), she became best friends with my ex when all of us met. They bonded and laughed all the time, she joined us in everything, we were a trio. But after the break up and treating us both horribly, we decided not to be friends. I have to admit that I have a strict rule for the people I care about "if you hurt my people I will cut you of immediately", with that I expect the same from the people around me. So after some time, I got in a healthy relationship with my current boyfriend, who respects my bonderies and my trauma, I realised that what I was dealing with was sexual assault and not attraction. It took me 6 months to realise this hard truth, and it traumatised me (nightmares about him touching me, me screaming bloody mercy, me being afraid of any touch and looking over my back). After my realisation I express my trauma to my "best friend" she said she understood, that this man is scum and she would never contact him again (from time to time she would talk and contact him, they would hang out for a while)

Fast forward my year abroad with her as my roommate: I was in a strong state of mind, I finally dealt with my trauma, and I wanted to try and make it better for the next girl if I could. So I made the choice to call me ex and explain that he should take consent, he should have the conversation before doing things, he should ask then do, eta.. if he has a good bone in his body, he would understand and change his ways. I called, he was apologetic, and thanked me for the call. Regardless of the outcome, he still sexually assualted me, he still traumatised me, I am still scared of him, I am still dealing with the consequence of being with him. The first thing my friend said "can I be friends with him again", my response was "yes", but honestly I didn't mean it, I was alone in a foreign country and I was scared to be alone. With that being said, another month passes, and she states that when we go back to our home town, she is going to hang out with him, and she wasn't asking, she was stating. I was trying to reason with her, asking her if she understood the pain he put me through and her answer was horrible "I don't see this issue as black and white" "he is a good guy, he didn't mean to" "all guys make mistakes, he doesn't know any better". Hearing all that from your best friend of 20 year, it broke my heart, I damaged me. Needless to say, we are not friends anymore.

If you think I was in the wrong, please feel free to correct me.
